West Michigan lakeshore
Christmas light installation in Saugatuck
Saugatuck sits on the Kalamazoo River near Lake Michigan, among dunes, old village streets and lakeshore cottages. Winter here means lake-effect snow and wind, and some homes are getaways rather than full-time houses. Warnimont & Wolfe owns the lights, installs them in November, keeps them running through the season and takes them down in January. You never buy, store or untangle anything. Brad and Josh take a short list of homes each season.

Victorian trim, cottages and clip-mounted lights
Saugatuck has Victorian-era houses, cottage-style homes and newer lakeshore builds. Old wood trim, porch rails, decorative detail and cedar shakes are easy to damage. Our lights are clip-mounted, with no nails, staples or glue, so nothing is driven into your trim or siding.
At the design visit we walk the property, measure every run and photograph the house. A porch roof, a gable and a bay can each be a separate run. You then get a photo mockup of the house lit up and one all-inclusive price. Everyday Roofline covers up to 100 feet of front roofline, in commercial-grade warm white C9 LEDs.
A porch or deck is part of the picture too. Tell us which side of the house you want people to see. That choice drives the design, and the street side is usually what most visitors and neighbors notice first.
- Porch roofs, gables and bays measured run by run
- Warm white C9 LEDs, clip-mounted
- A photo mockup of your house before you book
Lake-effect snow, wind and ground-level lights
The lakeshore gets lake-effect snow and strong wind. Lights on the roofline stay above most ground drifts. Low pieces can get buried, so at the design visit we talk about where pathway accents will sit and how they will look with snow on the ground.
Every Roofline job includes a service call during the season, and Estate includes maintenance visits. If a storm moves a run, we come back. Signature Estate covers the whole property: rooflines, tree canopy and trunk wraps, lit wreaths and garland, and pathway accents. We draw it up on site.
Dune country means oaks and pines close to many houses. Tall trees cut the wind, but they also shade a yard and hold snow. Trunk wraps and canopy lighting give a wooded lot its shape after dark. At the design visit we look at your trees and tell you which ones can carry a display and which are better left alone.
If your Saugatuck house is a second home
Saugatuck has a mix of getaways and year-round homes. If yours is a getaway, you may not be here in December. We own the lights and do the upkeep, the lights run on a timer we set, and we handle the January takedown and storage. If you are away in November, tell us how we should reach the outlets. We use your existing exterior outlets and do not do electrical work.
Installs run early November to mid-December. The design visit is $150, credited toward your install, and it is confirmed once the deposit is paid. Booking takes 50% down, and the balance is due the day the display is lit. Call 262-300-7729.

Questions from Saugatuck homeowners
I only use my Saugatuck house on weekends. Will the lights still work?
Yes. Every display is timer set, so the lights come on and go off without you. We own the lights, do the in-season upkeep and handle takedown and storage in January. Tell us at the design visit how we can reach your outlets while you are away.
Will lights damage my old wood trim?
Our lights are clip-mounted, with no nails, staples or glue. Old trim, porch rails and cedar are easy to damage, so at the design visit we look at what your house is made of and tell you plainly what will clip on cleanly.
What does lake-effect snow do to the lights?
Heavy snow and wind are normal on the lakeshore. Your Roofline price includes a service call during the season, and Estate includes maintenance visits. If snow or wind moves a run, we come back. Ground pieces can get buried, so we plan their placement with you.
