West Michigan lakeshore
Christmas light installation in St. Joseph
St. Joseph sits on Lake Michigan at the mouth of the St. Joseph River, and some homes stand on bluffs high over the water. Wind and lake-effect snow come with that. Warnimont & Wolfe owns the lights, installs them in November, looks after them in season and takes them down in January. You never buy, store or untangle anything. Brad and Josh keep a short list of homes each season.

Bluff-top homes and the lake side of the house
Some St. Joseph homes stand on the bluff over Lake Michigan, with a front on the street and a back facing the water. People on the beach and boats on the lake can see the lake side. Signature Estate is a whole-property design, drawn up on site, so we can plan both sides. Tell us at the design visit which side matters most to you.
Wind is strongest at the bluff edge. Every Roofline job includes a service call during the season, and Estate includes maintenance visits. If a storm moves a run, we come back. Our lights are commercial-grade warm white C9 LEDs, clip-mounted, with no nails, staples or glue.
The lake side and the street side may need different plans. On the side that takes the wind, simple lines are usually the better choice. We talk through which runs to keep and which to leave off, and the photo mockup shows you the result.
- Street side and lake side planned together
- Bluff wind: in-season service call or maintenance visits
- Clip-mounted, with no nails, staples or glue
Older city streets, lake-effect snow and ground lighting
Away from the bluff, St. Joseph has older neighborhoods with porch roofs and several roof planes. We measure every run at the design visit and photograph the house. You get a photo mockup of your house lit up and one all-inclusive price. Everyday Roofline covers up to 100 feet of front roofline.
Lake-effect snow comes off Lake Michigan and can pile up. Roofline lights sit above most drifts. Low pathway lights can get buried, so we plan where they go with you. Signature Estate includes tree canopy and trunk wraps, lit wreaths and garland, and pathway accents.
Older houses often have a front porch. A porch roofline, the posts and the front door can make a good small display on their own. If your plan sits near the $1,000 minimum job, start with the entry and the cleanest roofline run. A tidy, well-lit front says more than a crowded yard.
If your house is a second home
St. Joseph is a lakeshore town, and some homes here are second homes. If yours is, the lights run on a timer we set, and we do the in-season upkeep and the January takedown. Tell us at the design visit how we should reach the outlets if you are away. We use your existing exterior outlets and do not do electrical work.
Installs run early November to mid-December. The design visit is $150, credited toward your install, and it is confirmed once the deposit is paid. Booking takes 50% down, and the balance is due the day the display is lit. Call 262-300-7729.
